The appointment of (this commit
tee la an Important Item in a funda
mental reorganization of the conven
tion plan followed by the educational
leaders In their national professional
organl cation for many years. The
change was made to extend greater
responsibility to Individual members
in the department's attempt to plan
more effectively for meeting the cur
rent crisis In education.
