Other portions of the propoaea code
followed generally rules and regula
tions established, since the recent
drop In grain prices caused far pi oi
llclala to ask the exchange officials
to change the regulations.
Heretofore, however, the question
oC margin requirements on purchases
has not been definitely fixed, the re
quirement being that th margla be

The proposed code calls for regula
tion by the groin exchanges and the
carrying into effect by their officials
of the rules laid down, .
The code said, the minimum mar
gin for virtually all open future con
tracts, for grali). dealings should he
ten per cent of the market price on,

less" for any one customer.-
The requirements for open con
tracts of over 360,000 but less than
2.000,000 bushels is ten per cent of
the. market prlcp of the first 250,000
bu&hela and 15 per cent of the mar
ket price for the remainder.
Where more than 2,000,000 bushels
are, bought or sold, the margin on all
over that figure Is 20 per' cent, under
the code.
The exchanges agreed to continue
present regulations which limit fluc
tuations for one day's trading to five
cents per bushel on wheat, rye and
barley, four cents per bushel on corn
and three centa per bushel on oats.
The code is to go Into effect alter
its approval by the president and the
