Main 600 Until 9:80 , m, Steamer-Bridge Luncheon Enjoyed Monday Afternoon By Members Of The Sorosis Club A delightful steamer-bridge lunch con wob enjoyed yesterday uitomoon at 1 o'clock at the home of Mm. J. T. Richardson by members of tho eorosls club. The entertolnmont for the afternoon symbolized an ocean voyage complimenting Mr. auy Ellis who expects to spend the fall months In Europe. The members were seated at a largo table In the dining room for lunch eon. The centerpiece was a minia ture ship, an heirloom, suggestive of the Aqultanla on which Mrs. Ellis will sail for Europe on Aug. 1. The ship was lighted with small candles. The favors were tiny brown steamer bags (filled with candy, and si small sail boats containing limericks on Home, London, .ParlB, Florence, Luccrno, all cities In Mrs, Ellis' Itinerary tlirough the continent. The llmcrlcta wero road during tho luncheon. Three tables were arranged for bridge, each of which was named foi ,a largo ocean liner. The scoro pads and tally cards also wero decorated with boats. At tho close of the afternoon Mrs. Ellis was presented with a travel diary. , ; , , N. 0. W. Picnic To '' Be on Aug, 6 Fifty members of tho Neighbors of Woodcraft met last night at the Odd Fellows hall and made phms for iin nil-day picnic at Pino Cone on Aug. 6. Members of the entertainment commlttco are Ed Schultz, Jack Don ovan and Harry Carnos, whllo Mra. Myrtle Anderson and Mrs. Agnes An drews will have charge of the re freshments that are to be furnished by tho lodge, Ico cream and coffee. Every member will bring a covered dish. Refreshments wero served last nlfiht by a committee directed by Mrs. Lou Richards. ! Tho Post Guardian Neighbors of tho N, O. W. will entertain at a card party on Tuesday, JuJy 35, at the homo of Mrs. Mary Yeske. The next regular meeting of the lodge will be held on Aug. 1, at 8 oclock. Pythian Sisters Club to Meet An afternoon of sewing and, con versation Is planned for Friday at 2 o'clock whon Mrs. Alvah Crowley cn tertnlns the Pythian Bisters Social club at her home. Women of Moose To Entertain Tho Women of the Mooso will en tertain at a no-hostess card party tonight at 8 o'clock at tho homo of Dr. Mary May v J He. Plans also have been completed for a no-hostess picnic at Pino Cone on Sunday, July 23. A potluck luncheon will bo served. Hotel Advertises, And Business Gains BAN FRANCISCO (Specal) Room sales durln May and June at Hotel Sir Francis Drake, the largest user of newspaper advertising space among Pacific icoast hotels, not only showed a gain of 20 per cent over May-June 1032 but .eyen a gain of 3 per . cent over May-June 1031, according to Ed ward M. Kennedy, assistant manager In charge of advertising and pub licity. '. "This Is the first time our room sales were ever greater than during the same period two years previous," Kennedy .stated. "Especially signifi cant, too, Is the 20 per cent gain this year over last year. Most Important of all, however, Is the fact that, even our cash revenue from room, sales during June this year was 21i per cent greater than last year the first time our room revenues wero ever greater than the year before." An Interesting item in connection with the receipt of this first money here is a communication received by the local bank, from a nationally known collector of paper money, George H. Blake,- of Jersey City, N. J. Blake .offers the local bank, and which offer has been . accepted, a premium of S7.50 on the first Bheet of five .dollar bills; a premium of $6.00 on the first Bheet of ten's, and $5 premium on the first sheet of 20's. The bills carry the likeness of Abraham Lincoln on the fives, Alex ander -Hamilton on the tens and An- drow - Jackson on the twenties.
