tually exists Is enough to subject
many stop-watch recordings to ques
tion. It seems to us that the substi
tution of electric timing for all our
big championship moots, at least, is
tho only answer to developing real
accuracy and confldouco.

tion of speedsters, like Metcalfe,
Owens, Hornbostel, Bonthron, Cun

three miles was the fairest race but
as long as the Olympic championship
Is decided over 2.000 meters I guess
this regatta Is right enough.

might put tho best crew out. At
