Baird gave a report on the dls- trlct convention, which was nem re cently In La Grande and to which ohe wna a delegate. It was decided to serve a dinner on' election day and Mrs. K. W. McKlnzie was placed in charge of the dinner. New year books were given the members and plans for the year discussed. The next meeting will be on Oct. 25 at the home of Mrs. L. F. Allen. "The Clay's The Thing" was the title of the comedy presented at the gymnasium Tuesday by the F. F. A. class to a large audience' and pro nounced a decided success. Mr. and I Mrs, C. A. Thompson coached the play and the following students made up the cast: Tom Wlllet, Joe Johnson, Hollls Tulley, Phillip ' Couch, Max Hudson, Fred Bales, Hattte Roop, Ar thene Cray, Wilda McKenzle. ' ""' Wallowa High school girls' volley; ball team played a return game Thursday night with the Joseph team at Joseph and won a second 'victory , over the blue and yellow. The first i game of the season was played with Joseph on the Wallowa floor last week ond the local girls scored an eaay victory. The team was taken to Jo seph by the coach, Supt. :0. F. Camp bell, Mrs. J. B. Gregory and Miss Vir ginia Hunter. Members and friends of the Pres byterian church are planning a pot luck dinner together Sunday in tho church basement following the morn ing service. Sunday school children and their families are also invited to bring a covered dish and coie to tho dinner. , The condition of bunenn McLean, wlio has bsen very ill for two weekh, remains unchanged. He is suffering from Brlght's disease and while ho thrilling seemed to rally several days the first of the week, his general condition was not considered improved. Dr. William Dale and Dr. Joe Mis ner, of Portland, arrived in Wallowa Monday to Join Dr. George Dale on their annual deer hunt.
