The M-G-M super " production, "Grand Hotel," came to the Granada theatre yesterday and remains over today, presenting one of the most amazing parades of cinema celebrities ever staged together for one picture. it is a picturization oi vicki uaum s story and presents the hodge-podge of a great hotel any great hotel, where life flows on and on "and nothlntt haDDens." Yet something does happen, and the tragedies, the problems of a host of persons are woven into the life of the actresses and actors; yet It represents life with Its minor and major disappointments and accomplishments and happiness. Garbo, Beery, Stone, Hers holt, Bar ry more, Crawford these are the names that stand out in the cast, and each gives a vivid presentation of his or her part. For those who like her, there are many close-ups of the great Garbo, and there Is acting aplenty for Barrymore and Hersholt and both take full advantage of It. At times the movement seems a bit alow, yet it speeds up at the finale and suddenly the show Is over, leav ing the audience a bit breatliless at the climax. When the Pleasant Grove Orange boys and the Eagles tangle Sunday alternoon It will be the second time the two squads have met this year. The first game resulted In a 18 to 3 win for the grange leads. Lewis, grange hurler, was the outstanding star of the game. He held the local lads handcuffed at bat for the entire game. It Is expected that Lewis will hurl the coming game. The Eagles have long been awaiting the opportunity to face Lewis again, to see what they could do with hla offerings. They believe that with their two wins over the Old Timers this week, and the additional experi ence they have garnered since their last game with the Grangers, that they can "take" the visitors Sunday.
