NORMAL SCHOOL STANDARDS : In connection with recent educational discussions through out the state there have been numerous references to the fact that the stato normal schools are not up to standard and that soincthiiifr should be done lo hrinjr them up. Tho slate legislature, along about 1911 or 1912, took in 'hand this matter of normal training in Oregon, and finally set a definite standard which it required all normal schools to meet. Tho United Slates department of education sent its representatives who made a thorough investigation and approved tho standard sot. Our stale normal schools always liavo met the requirements, and still do. Then there are other standards set by the Northwest rule.
