H. ffcertzog, pastor of the Methodist church, announces that a special service dealing with the motherhood of the nation will bo delivered. The Presbyterian church has planned not only a mothor's day sormon, but also special music for the event. I wonder If something of our dif ficulty doesn't grow out of our dis position to think that the soul is a something that has been, or Is to be, adderj to our constitution. But that Is a reversed thought. The fact Is that the "soul Is form and doth the body make"; that "added" Is not tho soul, it Is tho body. Think of man aa having a body, pretty much as you would think of him as having a coat or a house, and you have the right thought. Just as the man can be and Is himself outside his house and apart from his ooat, so when death eomes and puts him "outside'' his bof-y, he Is the same man In all respects. That body was and Is no essential part of him. He only possessed H for a time. Keep thoroughly in mind tho fact that when we go there we do pre serve our identity and are most tru ly "ourselves," for the simple rea son, that in going "there"' we go All that is properly our own must go with us, and surely no pne thing can be more ours than our Identity. One continues to have all that is himself. Tho friend, man or woman. Is etUl the same lovely and loving person, awaiting the reuniting amid conditions much , better. Since homestcading ho lived in Wol- lowa and was engaged In real estate and Insurance. Mr. Searle sorvad for many years as clork of the Wallowa1, scnool, board, and city treasurer, posi tions oi trust wii.cn ne vary capaoiy filled and whero his opinion was highly valued. In 1007 he married Rftcnoi E. Har ris and to this union twin girls wore born In 1914, girls of whom any father could well bo proud. Ho leaves to mourn his loss his widow, Rachel E. Searle, two daugh ters, Miriam and Maxlno; a sister, Mrs, L. E. Woods, of Spokane, and sDverai nieces and nephews besides countless frlonds, for E- A. Searle was tho friend of cvoryone.
