' Fuller earned a shot at Berg by stopping Billy Wallace ol Cleveland in the seventh round of a ton round bout in Madison Square Garden last night.; . ; Tho Bostoii boy, recent conqueror of Kay Miller in the garden, ruled a 6-2 favorite over Wallace when they entered the ring. But the 31-ycar-old Wallace gave as good as ho received through the first six rounds. , After an even first round, fuller had the edge in the second and third sessions but Wallace came back strong to win tho fourth and fifth, flooring Puller' with a clean right to tho Jaw In the latter round. 1 Fuller rallied to win the sixth round and In - the seventh caught Wallacb squarely with a right to the jaw. Wallace went down heavily and barely got to his feet at nine. He fell Into the amis of Referee Jed Oahan who stopped the fight and awarded Puller the victory on a technical knockout. The section south of here was un der water and a number of families sought refuge on the upper floors of their houses. The Glenwood aroa In West Springfield was the hardest hit. Water backed up behind the railroad embankment 0 feet deep, covering the first floors of houses. The only way to reach Springfield from Eugeno was by foot along the railroad embankment.
