Imbler after having spent a few days
at the Harvey home In La Grande.

Mrs. Clyde Myers has returned to
her home near Summervllle from
Llvermore, Col., where-she has been
since before Christmas visiting with
her two daughters,. Mrs. Wayne Crow
and Miss La wanna Myers,
Island City Aid
A comparatively large group of the
members braved the stonru of Thurs
day and attended the meeting of the
Island City aid society held at the
home of the president, . Mrs,. Garret
Blokland. An Important . 'business
meeting was held when many im
portant matters were discussed.
Among other enterprises right now,
the aid Is buying a new stove for
the church which they hope to have
installed before the services of to
morrow. Announcements were also
made concerning the special meet
ings which start tomorrow. Mrs.
Blokland served a very fine lunch at
the close of the meeting. (

Andy Garrett, of Mayvllle. Ore.,
passed away last Wednesday. He was
buried at Elgin Friday. Just a week
prior, he and his father, Charles P.
Garrett had driven to Elgin to visit
Robert Garrett, who has been sick
for some time. Andy was born, on
a farm east of Elgin, on Cricket Flat,
33 years ago. Although he has been
suffering from diabetes for several
years, his untimely death was a shock
to his many friends in this county.

who has been spending several weeks
at the home of her daughter, Mrs.
Myrlck at Perry has returned to her

with an all-day meeting.

Weather Just can't stop the folks
out in the valley who have been hav
ing their lovely neighborhood parties
all fall and winter, for there are Just
so many that have to, be, had before
time to get out the packets of seeds
and that will bo before we know it
maybe. . So . last night the crowd
gathered at the horpe of Mr. and Mrs.
O. A. - McCnbe on the Cove highway.
