By Forrest C. Allen LAWRENCE, Kan., Jan. There Is a wide variation in the terms ap plied to plays, situations of the game and the apparatus used. At last year's meeting of the Na tional . Association of Basketball Coaches in New York the coaches agreed upon a uniform basketball terminology for the United States. Next year these- newly accepted terms -will bo made . public In the rule book. - . For instance, a play in which a player slips away from, his guard and scores a bosket unmolested Is described as a set-up. Other names given this samp play In various states aro crips, Sunday shots, guts, snow birds, lay ups, dogs, suckers, bunnys, sleepers and pot shots. Tho boards back of the baskets are to bo known as "bank boards" or "back boards" or back stops,, boards or banks. "Basket" is given first rating with buckets, rims, Irons, rings, hoops, nets and strings following In order.
