D'Arcy McCool won first place in the declamatory contest at La Grande Friday evening. He received the medal and will be among those elig ible to enter the contest at Arlington. He lost two some time ago and three more re cently. Mrs. Lucy Gardner left Saturday morning for a visit at New Plymouth, Idaho, with her daughter, Mrs. Mack Saunders.
