Mrs. Alice Reed. Miss Reed's marriage to Oscar Knlsht. of Elgin, will be an event of tho ner.r future. Mr. Knight Is the proprietor of a service Btatlon there. About 20 guests were present. ' Little Artla and Reta Keefer, nieces of Miss Reed, wre dressed as bride and bridegroom and -drew a little wagon, decorated in the colors of the service station, into the room. The honor guest received a number of lovely gUts. Following pleasant 1 social hours dainty refreshments were served by the hostess assisted by Mrs. Ed Hugh es, Miss Helen Hughes, Mrs. Alex Rob ertson and diss Leora Reed. Mrs. L. H. Cochran, Mrs. Fred Cross, Mrs. Ernest Bray, Mrs. H. H. Anderson and Mrs. Rus sell. ' . Miss Myrna Ward Guest of Honor In honor of Miss Myrna Ward, Mrs. J. E. Fitzgerald was hostess at a charming miscellaneous -shower Fri day evening at her home in tho Al len apartments on Fifth street. Miss Ward's marriage to Floyd Davis will be an event of July 20. Lovely flow ers were used in decorating the homo. About 26 worts present and the evening was spent playing games. Later dainty refreshments were serv ed. The honor guest received a num- ber of pretty gifts. ..-. Swimming- Party Enjoyed Friday Ten members of the L. T. club met in regular session Friday afternoon at Pine Cone, when swimming was enjoyed and later refreshments wer& served with Miss Pauline Clausen as chairman in charge. ' Mrs, Chenault Is Hostess at Benefit At a delightful silver tea, a benefit for the Baptist Ladies Aid, Mrs. I. E. Chenault was hostess Thursday after noon to members of the society and several visitors with 24 in attendance. Lovely flowers were arranged about the rooms and delicious refreshments were served. This is the first of a aeries of afternoons planned to take place during the next few months, --.-, Mrs. Wright Is . Hostess to Club At a pleasant afternoon members of the Do-nut olub met Friday at the home of Mrs. Ambrose Wright, Lovely flowers decorated the rooms. After several hours spent sewing and visit ing, a two-courso luncheon was serv ed. The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. s. Nyo on Washington street. ' Benefit Social Given Last Night The benefit social of the Second Ward Relief society of the L. D. 8. church was a successful event of last night held in the church on Fir street. Afterwards games were played and refreshments sold. Westway Club In Enjoyable Meeting About 30 were In attendance at tho meeting of the Westway club of the W. B. A. when an evening of cards and a business session was held last night at the home of Mm. J. E. Reyn olds. Attractive decorations were ,n a patriotic design. Six tables of cards wore at play fol lowing a business meeting. Prizes at bridge were won by Mrs. W. D. Mc Donald, first, and Mrs. Bert Carr. consolation. Mrs. Renwick Clark won first hon6rsat pinochle and Mrs. May Dixon received the consolation award. Nearing the closs of the evening de licious refreshments were served. This Is the last meeting until v,hey are re sumed in the fall. On investigation they found tho doe was the mother of two fawn which were hidden near the barn. Tho Uoo leaves the Shaw homo periodically, sometimes ac companied by their dog, even . for weeks at a time. Before returning With her family tho doe had been gone for five or six weeks. .
