Board Is Asked To Drop Married Women Teachers Tho board of ii rectors of the La Grande school district No. 1 met Monday night with all mem bers present, when a committee from tho Central Labor council and non-affiliated labor organiza tions consisting of 11, A. Scott, Wil liam Hesae, Frank Cullen and Otto Pieper appeared beforo tho board and requested on behalf of labor that tho school board adopt the policy of eliminating in the near futuro from tho La Grande schools all married women teachers. The school board took no action on tho matter. The various members of the committee made representations supporting tho requests und stated that tho labor organizations will extend its activities on tho subject over Union county. urlotta members of tho school board Informally discussed with tho committee tho policy of tho school board on tho subject and asked for suggestions from the committee as to methods proposed.
