' Melt 5 tablespoons of butter and
add flour, Blend and add milk and
cook .until creamy sauce forms.
Stir constantly. Add salt, celery
salt, pepper, onions, 1mm and eggs.
Pour iiuo shallow, buttered baking
dish and cover with crumbs, mixed

egg yolks, lemon extract, salt,
orange rind, flour nnd baking pow
der, lleat 3 minutes. Fold In egg

oven. Coot and add filling.

2 egg yolks.
J-S teaspoon salt. ,
1-2 cup orango juice.
3 tablespoons grated orange
rind.
1 tablespoon butler.
1-4 teaspoon lemon extract.
Mend sugar and flour. Add .egg
yolks, salt, orange juice, rind and
batter, cook slowly ana stir con
stantly until filling becomes thick
and creamy. Add lemon extract and
beat one minute. Cool. Use as fill
ing. Frosting
2 cups sugar.
1 cup water.
'1 egg whites, stiffly beaten.
1-2 teaspoon vanilla,
1-2 cup orange segments.
Mix sugar und water. Cook over
moderate fire and without stirring,
until thread forms, when portion is
slowly poured from spoon. Poui
slowly into egg whiles. Beat until
thick, creamy and cold. Add va
nilla. Krost top and sides of cake.
Arrange orango segremenls on lop.

Kmroy Davis, ITmpqua national
forest squatter, charged by the
government with contempt of
court been use he continued to re
sldo on his allegedly illegal claim
after having been ordered off
through court action, Tuesday
pleaded not guilty to tho contempt
charge In federal court. He based
his plea on grounds that 'ho had
maintained practically continuous
resldcnco since !r!(02-, before con
gress passed an act reserving tho
forest land for homestead entry.
Because of his prior residence, ho
does not believe ho should bo de
prived of his forest homo und
thereby is not In contempt by con
tinuing to Hvo thore, his plea sets
forth.
When Federal Judge MeNary
told Davis his plea would be over
ruled, ho asked for postponement
or hearing until Friday. The re
quest was granted.
Kdwlu Martin, another squatter
charged with trespassing in the
ympqun. forest, pleaded not guilty.
Pleas of not guilty had previously
been entered by J. 3i. Bruhan and
K. If. Best, two others arrested
with Davis and Martin on contempt
charges.
Federal officers said that on
completion of tho criminal cases
against tho four men, tho govern
ment will bring civil suits ngalnst
each to determine what their
rights arc in regard to residence
