Bu chanan, served refreshments. . Name Mrs. Duniway For Oregon Honors Tho recent announcement that in tho contest, held for naming tho most outstanding woman in Ore gon,. Mrs. Abigail Scott Duniway, was chosen, has a very great in terest for the women of La Grande who participated In the contest. Mrs. Duni way's name will be placed on a bronzo tablet in ,tho Women's Hall of Fame in the na tional capital. There is no limit to the number of names which may be so placed in Washington, but with each namo must be given the sum of 1000 lo bo applied on the endowment fund which is to carry on a program toward good citizen ship. The movement was started by the National Lcagao of Women Voters, who vlsioncd a memorial for the women who had dono some out standing work in tho cause of wo man's suffrage in the United SUites, The sum of $210,000 Is being rais ed for tho endowment fund and the movement is meeting with splendid support on till sides. Mrs. Duniway is named as one of the pioneers for the cause or woman's suffrage on the Pacific coast, Sho was actively identified with the cause for more than fifty years.
