The Interpreter, the useful little nmgazine published by the Foreign IuiRUapo Information Service, points out that there are fully a million people living- in this country who were born in Mexico most of them quit "unassimil ated." Mexicans enter the United States chiefly for economic reasons. Thciv are more nnd better jobs north of the Kio Ovande than south of it. So the border is crossed and the family is brought north; but all of the while the Mexican innm'trrant retains in the hack of his head the notion that he will, some day, go back to his native country. This fact is strikingly proved by naturalization statistics. Last year, out of 'J2 I.72S aliens naturalized, only Kil weiv Mexicans. During the last five years only 500 Mexicans have received their second papers. Quite obviously, the Mex ican is not overwhelmed by the advantages of American citizenship.
