With the linker paper's question given due space The Observer would like to ask the Democrat-Herald a Tew, the answers to which, we will await with interest publishing them (if any) for tho benefit of La Grande readers in these columns. Here are our requests for information, which wo are sure the Doniocrnt-llorald will be glad to provide for us: First, on what tlnto were the letters of guardianship issued by the county court at linker for thuse protested football Jilayers? Second, who are the legal guardians of these foot ball players in linker V Third, do the two football players so kindly adopted by our good friend Hill North, secretary of the linker chamber of commerce, ix-side at Hill's home? tourlli, where and with whom have these protested players lived since their "adopted" residence in linker, with their legal guardians or elsewhere? Fifth, when was the first informal and verbal protest of these players made to the superintendent of linker schools by U-i Grande school offi cials, and was this first objection made before or after the letters of gunrdiiinship Were issued by the linker countv court? There are other questions the answers to which might throw Additional light on the matter but these five will help. We know the linker paper is anxious to tell all there is to tell about these "adopted" players, that there is no attempt to conceal anything whatever and that it will gladly furnish us this information. We are loathe to believe that these letters of guardianship were issued l.y the county court with in tho last week or that these protested players are not living with their legal guardians as nice, adoptetl boys should.
