Effective October First
We take pleasure in announcing that on the first of October new
rate schedules will go into effect which will give to our customers the
opportunity to provide better lighting in their homes and places of
business, and use more electrical necessities and conveniences at great
ly reduced rates.
These new rates, together with others which will be put into effect
later, will result in a saving for our customers of approximately
$14,000.00 in the first year. The saving realized by each customer will
depend upon the amount used. For example, residence customers us
ing electricity at the present lighting rates will receive reductions
ranging from 33 1-3 to 75 on consumption in excess of 20 kilowatt
hours used in any one month. (The old and new rates are the same for
the first 20 kilowatt hours used in any one month,)
Customers using electricity at the present cooking and heating rates
will not receive such marked reductions because they are now getting
very low rates for such service. However, the new schedules for this
class of service provide extremely low rates for water heating, reach
ing a step as low as 1!4 cents per kilowatt hour.
The new schedules for residence service will cover Lighting, Gook
ihg, Heating and Small Power. I'his will mean that residence custom
ers can obtain all of their electric service through one meter.
