Bin Infield (Associated Press Radio Editor) A radical change in program pol icy, which it feels may establish a i precedent, has been made by WKMt, Chicago. Effective July 7, its advance programs supplied newspapers will contain no mention of the spon sors. Trado or corporation names will bo substituted by a "distinctivo designation." In addition the station proposes "to maintain a conservative adver tising policy that will not permit tho broadcasting of advertising matter found objectionable by lis teners and which is not In keeping with the real purposes of broad casting and to bear in mind that the first allegiance of the broad casting station is to the listening public." This new WEN It policy Is In lino with a campaign recently inaugu rated by the Radio Manufacturers association against what it de scribed as a tendency by broad casting to devote more time to the sponsor than was thought advis able. It was said that hearers de sired a preponderance of entertain ment and might switch to some thing else if a program contained what some might feel was too intirh Irniln Kmnmnni I - AS ADVERTISED IN THE SATURDAY EVENING POST JULY 13, l'J2'J Phone Main 18 5m5 "-1 ii I Lower Cove Hay Crop Excellent; Second Crop O.K. liy Mrs. Nell Klglit (Observer Correspondent) LOWtfR COV13 (Special) 'Farmers have nbout finished put ting up their first cutting of alfal J fa which wtis a heavy yield.
