The I crowd stopped it u block away with a storm of bricks but the car I gut another Htart and went around the belt line, where it encountered isoaped tracks and blocked rights of I way. I When it was started back for the 'barn, it was stopped in the middle I of the street while the crowd of strikers and sympathizers rained I a heavy bricK attack. Police j fought desperately but the crowd 1 outnumbered them. Tho motor- man finally quit and a policeman drove tho car to tho barn. Three policemen threw up I heir badges and amis amid the cheers of the crowM and joined the strikers. Many arrests were made. The third car was literally de molished on the lower end of Can al street where It utlompted a sec ond trip.
