night and during the meeting the
obligation was given to 44 workers
by President Frank Seward. An-

been provided to make that pos
sible. -Governor Patterson referred
to the original sponsoring of the
Kastern Oregon normal school bill

fication that the project had been
so well realized In today's dedica

The La Grande municipal band
played the overture "Festival" by
Lcutner and "The Lost Chord" by
Sullivan, preceding the corner stone
ceremonies, which were performed
before a large crowd gathered from
all parts of the Northwest. This
ceremony was followed by the song
"America" by the audience, and
the "March from Tannhauser" by
the band.
