And that increase in manpower means an immediate in crease in payroll and the community buying power. With additional manufacturing plants desired by everyone inter ested in conimuiity prosperity, the greatest opportunity for that addition in La Grande lies in the opportunity to increase the output and payroll of those factories already here and in operation. . If all the people in this county purchased products manu factured and produced in this valley wherever possible, tho added business activity and increase in number of people em ployed !wouId bo astounding. That they fail , to do so is largely va matter of failing to know about home products. And that is the purpose of the Home Products Show being bponsored by tho chamber of commerce scheduled for the last two days of next week. Most of the things manufactured in Union county will be attractively displayed there. Interesting facts about the quality of these products will be available and an entertain ing program is planned. It will give people of this commun ity a chance to loarn about their own industries, to sell them selves on the products of those industries. And there will be lots of "I-didn'l-know " and "I-never-realized " exclama tions as La Grande citizens discover things that have been in their own back yard, as it were, for many years without their becoming acquainted with them. The Home Products Show will have a big educational value and will be hugely attended, but It will be of small permanent value unless the citizens of the community enter into the spirit of this homo products promotion and givo locally manufactured products a trial in their buying after tho show is a thing of the past. It is the one immediate means of adding new payrolls and i. reasing every resident's opportunity for greater prosperity.' Save Friday and Satur day nights of next week for this e m. Go see tho displays. Kind out how you can speed tho money-turnover in Union county by buying these homo products. It's not only a mat ter of community loyalty; it's a matter of good business. Teapot?
