Tliere are " many reasons for the ease of steering the new Ford THE nfir Ford is rxceptionallr ray to ter because of the well proportioned weight of tbe car, the Meel-apoke wheels, the co ordinated desifni of springs and bhork abfirber, the size ' and design of the teering vheel, aud the simple mechanical construc tion of the bleering: gear. The Ford steering gear is of the orm and sector type uited on high-priced cars and is three quarter irreversible. In aimple, non-technical lan guage, this means that the car rejKnd easily and quickly to the nteering vhecL, yet there is no danger of the heel being jerked from the hanU of the driver by ruts or bumps in the road. A licit! touch guides the ear, yet you al ways have that neceary- feel-of-the-road so essential to good driving. . Strength of material and care ful uork man-hip give uuu-ual la bility to the Ford steering gear and housing. The steering worm, for in stance, is aplined to the steering worm shaft and is stronger, of course, than if a single key were used to hold the shaft and worm together. The steering worm see- tor in forged and machined in the same piece with its shaft. The housing of the steering gear mechanism is made of three t-teel forgings, electrically welded together. This housing is then electrically welded to the steering column. Such a one-piece steel unit is naturally moch sturdier ' than if several parts were used and bolted or riveted together. Throughout, the steering mech anism of tbe new Ford is so simple in design and so carefully made that it requires practically no attention. The only thing for you to do is . to have the front steering spin dles, spindle connecting rods, and drag link lubricated every 500 miles and the steering gear lubri cated every 2000 miles. This is eay to do because of the high pressure grease gun lubricator fit ting provided for these parts. For this work, yon will Cnd it lx t to consult the Ford dealer, lie has been specially trained aud equipped to help you get the great est possible use from your ear over the longest period of time at the least trouble and expense.
