Ore, (Special) The weather still continues In this Motion of the country with con siderable fog, although before this kas been much sunshine. About eight. Inches of dry snow covers the ground In the hill sections. The depth In the valley Is not mora than four or five Inches. Much heavy feeding Is being done at mot of the farms but practically all stock are said to bo standing the cold weather In very good ehapo. Bruce Fisher and Clyde Brox son. farmers of tho Leap section have been busy the past few days gathering some of their horses from the range In the WMsKoy creek section. Gathering of tho last of tho cattln from tho summer ranges was completed some time ago, but a good many horses are still scattorod over the ranges yet. Horses have been able to do well on many of the ranges up until this tlmo, while tho grass has not been covered deeply with snow. Water Is said to be short at many farms In this community. The recent sort spoil apparently wus not of long enough duration to allow tho moisture to go dorp enough Into the soli to flush tho sources supplying many of the wells and springs. Asa Harmon, who has been at his home In Enterprise for the past two weeks suffering from a severo attack of the flu, has re covered sufficiently to return to bis ranch In tho Leap section. A number of grango members from this community attonded the meeting of tho Mouth Fork grango at Lostlno Saturday night, at which time the Installation of of ficers of Bouthfork grange was tho main feature of the mooting. Hoy and Irvln Onstln were busi ness visitors In the upper part of tile valley the first of the week. L. W. Minor and George Cusslns have been busy tho past several days hauling up a supply of logs ; for wood. llruco Cox was a I.a Grande business visitor the last of the week, Frank Walker, of Trout creek, was at bis ranch at Leap the lat . tor part of the week looking after some stock, Mr. Walker reports that several members of his family are Just recovering from a severe aolge of tho flu. A. McAlcxandor, of Middle val ley, I the first farmer In this com munity to start lambing. Ho states that pine young lambs which came during the past two woeka are do ing flno despite tho cold weather. He says that In past years ho has exporlencod good results In lamb ing In January and February. Mrs. Hollo Feaglns, of Leap, who has beon qulto 111 following an at tack of tho flu sovural weeks ago, Is reported to bo much Improved In health at this time. M. E.
