1 cuppceled und " sliced mush
rooms, 2 tablespoons butter, 1
cups shelled peas.

Cut a slice from the stem end
of each pepper and remove seeds
and pith. Cover with boiling
water, let stand five minutes.
Drain and rub off thin coating on
oubddc of peppers. Melt butter,
add mushrooms and cook five min
utes. Add peas which huve been

prevent burning until almost !
done. Add cream, salt and a few
grains of pepper. .
Fill peppers with this1 mixture,
cover with a thick layer of but
tered crumbs and place upright In
buttered baking dish. 1'our a
mtle hot water In at one side of
the dish and bake in a moderately
)Ot oven for 80 minutes. Baste
the peppers several times with the
water in the baking dish, pouring
the water over the peppers und
not over the crumbs.
