These shells can be used for many purposes, such u containers for candy, or Kanter glfta or quaintly styles "Kuster CggH." An "eggs-lremely" clever Idea for eggs prepared for the annual egg hunt Is to write the children's names on the eggs. Even tiny persons unabli) tot read experience iliiltu a thrill lot find their very own egg expressly prepared for thoin by the Faster bunny., . ligg Names The trick of writing on eggs 1h simple. First choose white eggs, 1 and hardboll them as usual. Then dyu them in the ordinary commer cial dyes, using light colors. And now comes the trick. Writo the name, on the egg with a stub pen dipped in melted wax or puruffiuc. when the wax hardens, dip egg Into a dark colored dye which Itus been cooled. A hot dyu would melt tho wax. The name finally appears In the color the egg was first dipped in, while the. egg Itself is the color of lint lasl dye. The baskets provided for tho small searchers in which to carry their eggs should' bo reasonably strung. It's a tragedy to have the handle pull out of one's basket, turning the precious "Kusc ur eggs" into 111-fuUid "Jlumply .lJuiu.pl lus." ',Whcn eggs are hidden through the rooms of the house, paper msls are effective and not untidy. Candy In Fxus Onn of the most fa-scinating fashions in Easier eggs is that of filling an empty egg shell with liny candy eggs or jelly beans. Rev. V. I Remington, D, I), ' , flllshop of Easlorn Oregon) An artist friend oho time drew a picture, for mo which ho held represented his experience of life' It was of a monk kneeling be fore a crucifix holding in his hand a lighted taper. As tho smoke ascended from tfio cutidle It formed a iiuestlon murk which en circled the arms of the Cross and left u period to be put In at the - feel of the Crucified One. It is true that Jesus has been the central -Figure upon Whom the eyes of nil the world have been fastened ever since He stretched out His loving arms upon that Cross. Il is true that ull of us must look to Him today fm tho solution of our everlasting, questions. However, my friend was wrong In believing that the answer could be given from the cross; it can only be found In the mystery of the empty tomb of Kuster morning und the words of the ungels, "Ho Is not here, Ho Is risen, uu He said." If the hope -of humanity, the Light of the World, the one truo pure, spotless und loving life was crushed und put out on Calvary's Hill, life and love have been defeated and the world of men has no assurance elthor of moral und spiritual victory now, or of u continued triumph or even existence Oioroafter. The smoko of our llttlo lighted tapers will forever cncirclo the Cross and end up with a period at the foot of the Crucified, unless wo can find some way of seeing through tho Calvury of Jesus to the glad assurance of the Kuster dawn, ufiii winning a victory over our lesser Calvurlcs, by our unconquer able faith In Immortality. Jesus endured the cross und despised the shame for the Joy that was set befoio Him. llo had that Joy In Himself but Ho had It, been n ho Ho of all men was able to seo through to tho ultimate purposes of life, to 'tho Reality which lay beyond tho mosts und uncertainties of earthly existence. The men and women of the twentieth century live In dally con tact with what tho people ot tho nineteenth century would huvo called Impossible miracles. If Reujamin Franklin could have projected In his Imuglmitlon the marvels of the electric uge und hud durcd to prophesy what was to happen, his cuutompururies would huvo called htm a dreamer, a vain babbler of Impossible things. Rut suppose ho had been able to seo through the lightning In the clouds to tho day when that same force was harnessed, nnd a child, by presBlng a button, could turn night Into day nnd send a voice across tho continent, would ho not have been In closer touch with truth und reality, than those who scoffed at Htm. Every victory which modern science has won over tho forces of tho physical unlvorse has come because some dlscovorer or Inventor was able to see through what hud formerly appeared to bo truth and discover what really was tho essence of things. Llttlo by little (iod has been putting into our hands the keys to unlock the secrets of nature and the mysteries of the universe. As those doors huvo been flung wide, humanity has been released from Us fears nnd superstitions. Wo are coming out of darkness Into light, out of Ignorance into the path of true knowledge. The means to this end has been understanding, somo one has beon ablo to show us how wo could seo through. ' ., Wo veti I l?.e the truth of all (bene things us they hold In our physical world, but how slow wo are to apply tho same method' and learn the same lesson In tho moral ami spiritual field. That Is the reason why many of us never gcLhcyoud tho question of Calvary to the dawn of" Easter, why wo never can seo tho mean ing of pain or suffering, or trials and disappointments, of sin or -oC death' Wo jUHl'-eunnol seo far enough,- Faster 1. the-key to nil . understanding-- R Is Hie dawn of compre'heimioh, the light which v drives away all fears and falHe Mens or conceptions of life. It ushers us Into a country of new delights, radlanco streams from tho empty tomb. All ualure empties Its fragrance and beauty Into our laps, friendship" and love glow anew, death and sin have lost their sling and tho grave has been robbed of Us victory. There Is no other key to human existence, to the abundant life here and to Immortality beyond this earth. When Menus looked down from His Cross on Good Friday ami surveyed tho evil and sin which was nailing lllm to the tree, Ills Word was "Father forgive them for they know not what they do." He had compassion on tho Ignorance of men: If they only hail known what Ho knew, If they could have seen through sin and death to eternal goodness and life. Ho only hail the key to death and He had to pass through Hint door in order to fling whto the portals of eternity und let In the light of understanding and comprehension. Easter was the Reality, of which Calvary wuh but Iho shadow of man's ignorance. Our day and generation has unlocked many doors through the keys which have come Into our hands, but we huvo been surpris ingly slow In applying our new found methods to the laws of the spiritual. This Is parily beesuso tho emphasis of our ago has been upon material development. Home of us believe that the twentieth century will witness almost as great advance In the understanding of spiritual law nnd life. There will bo the samo process, experimentation, verification and the sharing of fads. This Is tho method of science, and It can and should bo applied to religion fearlessly. Of course, you must begin with the acknowl edgement that there Is a moral and spiritual world. Just as you begin in physical science with the hypothesis of a material world. Tills Is the crux of modern life. Thousands, nay millions of us, live so constantly Ip tho flosh'thut the moral and spiritual has a hard time breaking through. One must bo born again In order to enter Into that kingdom, and sin and seirisb'ness stand guard over tho door which leads to eternal life. Kin makes us ignorant . Mill Jesis died to take away sin and lie hadan Infinite compassion for our Ignorance. I wlsh I might write a message which would go through all Eastern Oregon and reach the hearts of my people who aro yearn ing for ti clearer understanding of the meaning of lOasl'er. In the m 1 1 Mt of much loneliness, many trials, a great deal of Indif ferenco if ml coiiiplnisniice, we are all yearning fur Reality. Remember Jesus has put the key Into our hand. Ignorant und foolish as we are, we can take It and achieve a Joy and peace we have never known before.
