" Of Tlie 7 Stories, 100 Rooms and Baths Unique In Beauty and Facilities Saturday Evening, February 18th After being operated just one week in order to provide a smooth-working organization, the new Sacajawea Inn will be publicly presented to the people of La Grande and all Oregon on Saturday evening, February 18th, 1928. There is no better hotel in the entire state of Oregon. No single constructive event in many years has so attracted the interest of the people of this territory. It is therefore with much pride that the public is invited to see the build ing and become familiar with its remarkable facilities for serving a discriminating public. THE-LOBBY-1-' ' An attractive, thoroughly comfortable lounging room is provided in the Sacajawea lobby. Designed to give ready access to dining room, coffee shop, mez zanine, and street and business avea, the lobby meets, every convenience requirement of the guest. Lounging spaces offer inviting chairs, davenports, and love-seats, -with rich, high-pile Wiltons under foot. The desk is easily reached from either entrance, spacious doors and the lobby center permitting even large crowds to pass freely. The mezzanine floor, reached by the beautiful mar blc stairs or by elevator, is a model of quiet, luxurious comfort. Many upholstered chairs, cozy love-seats, convenient writing desks invite those who would answer correspondence or spend an hour reading. Decorations, lamps, lighting fixtures and. furniture arc unique both in beauty and utility in perfect keeping with the name, "Sacajawea." GUESTROOMS- ' Nowhere else is comfort, luxury, and complete con venience so thoroughly appreciated by a guest as in the guest room: With that in mind the Sacajawea has been built and furnished to set an unrealized standard for the traveling public in Oregon. Soft Wilton carpeting of fine quality cover the floors. Tasteful wallpaper and soft enamels provide a charming interior. Bright draperies, a convenient floor lamp, an upholstered easy chair help make a very pleasant room. The bathroom is equal to any metropolitan hotel bath tiled floor and four-foot wainscoting of tile tiled-in towel bars and fixtures and both tub and shower in every room. The bedroom suite in each room has been made spe cially to order from beautiful American walnut, charming in design and perfect examples of work manship. The bed ever important in a hotel is equipped with DeLuxe springs and heavy, luxuriously soft mattress. The guest has every facility for pleas ing comfort: UNEXCELLED CONVENTION FACILITIES The Sacajawea has facilities for large conventions that cannot he duplicated anywhere in the state outside of Portland. You in attaining that say, "J I is work Informal Reception and Ball As a means of providing everyone interested in the Sacajawea a chance to view and inspect it, the Grand Open ing Reception and Ball will be held Saturday evening, from eight o'clock until midnight. The entire institution will observe "open house." Refreshments will be served with the Sacajawea's compliments. Dancing will be continu ous in the beautiful Ball Room opening off the Mezzanine floor. There will be no charge. Everyone in Eastern Oregon desiring to attend is cordially invited. A brief but appropriate program will be presented during the evening. INDIAN :GKIBL . ' The dining room of a hotel, being so representative of its service, holds the secret of much of its success. In the Indian Grill of the Sacajawea are provided sur roundings that will be thoroughly in keeping with a meal service unexcelled anywhere in the Northwest. Decorations, lighting fixtures everything harmon izes to make a delightful room in which to eat. A soft carpet covers the floor and the room, looking on Fir street, is so located as to allow quiet and restful charm throughout the day. ' ' No less attractive is the coffee shop opening off the lobby and fronting on Adams. Both it and the dining room are served from the same kitchen but the coffee shop with unique Indian decorations and modern equipment offers quicker, less formal service in dif ferent and equally pleasant surroundings. Counter, booth, and table service are all available. BALL-ROOM'-- The Sacajawea Ball Room is the crowning feature of what has'been termed "Oregon's most unusual ho tel." It is the largest single dancing floor in Eastern Oregon and is equal to most in the state. As a ban quet room it can accommodate five hundred guests comfortably. As a ball room it will allow twice the room ever available in this section of the state. The decorationof the Ball Room is harmoriized with the remainder of the publicl'ooms of the hotel Indian stenciling in soft colors colorful draperies. It opens directly off the mezzanine floor and combined with the lounging facilities of that floor makes the Saca jawea especially attractive for large dinner-dances, private parties, etc. Opening off the Ball Room to the rear of the build ing are smoking and rest rooms. In addition to these are several large sample rooms. To the right and left of the mezzanine entrance are beauty parlor and cloak rooms. A BEAUTIFUL PRIVATE DINING ROOM One of the unique and particularly attractive features of the Sacajawea is tli'i private diningioom and ballroom off the mezzanine to the south. - It' is abdut a third the size of the large ballroom and is perfectly adapted for small private parties, small' dances, bridge-dinners, afternoon teas and niusicales, club' meetings) etc. It is an in timate, beautifully appointed room that has no counterpart for entertaining purpose.-! in all Eastern Oregon. .
