Then came t lie Immigration to the gold fields of California and the mighty track to Oregon which former expeditions continued until several years Inter when the l uion Pacific Railroad was built.- Hridger reaped a golden harvest and helped many an immi grant on his journey. Not only the old post but Jim Itridger himself I i ve. again in this superb film spectacle which was produevd with a wealth of accurate detail and which depicts the com ing of tin1 families from the old s!u t it g point West port Landing, now Kansas City, Mo. lo the west. No more fascinating period exists in American history. The trappers, the scouts. Indians and goldseek ers are the most picturesque fig ures that can he found in the rec ords of this country and the, win ning of the west marks the greatest epoch in t lie development of t he Lulled States. . I "Between Dangers" A Knockout For Thrills A Western drama bubbling over with tense excitement and stirring incidents is the attraction Tuesday at the Star theater. It is called "Hot ween Dangers'' and stars Rud- dy Roosevelt. one of t he Pal he featured Western players. This picture is a knockout ns far as thrills are concerned. In the very first scene one gets an ( inkling of the impending clash of opposing forces and throughout the picture one Is never sure just what the (urn of events will lead to. Ruddy Roosevelt plays the part 'of Toni Rawlins, a young man who has fallen heir to n ranch left to i him by his uncle. His papers are 'stolen and he Is unable to identify himself as the rightful owner. Complications set In. He is accused of murder and robbery, and there is talk of lynching him. From I then on events move with lightning speed to a climax that i-niis in a breath-taking light on the brink of a high cliff. From all angles, this picture is distinctive. The element of sus pense and mystery has been ex pertly worked Into the story and combiner; with the t li rilling sit uations, makes a piece of screen ntertainment well worth seeing. The picture, which was directed by Richard Thorpe, has a fine sup porting cast which includes Alma Kayford, Charles Thurston, Renntc Young, Al Taylor and others. A two-reel comedy and a Fables are also a part of the program for the second family day nt Hie Star, so named as the entire family is admitted for one fine ticket.
