Before investing in stock of the Black Marble and Lime Company, I care
fully investigated the Company, its charter, properties, titles, quality of its
products, costs of production, market quotations, supply and demand, trans-;
portation facilities and rates. , ' t . v
The costs of production of other lime companies I analysed in detail and-,
compiled figures to-meet the requirements of the local conditions, adding a lib
eral percentage to. cover unforeseen items. . " . ',,;
r Overhead expenses I inflated beyond a reasonable' estimate, and included
every conceivable expenditure. .For the first two years the overhead Will be
r. relatively high and my estimate ori this item is based upon requirements for
that period. Many necessary, expenses of a new undertaking will be gradually
reduced as business beeomes established, w . . .
In my calculations' I used as a basis only 65 of the plant's capacity. When
we pass that point in production,, costs per unit will decrease automatically in
both production and overhead, and profits will increase in proportion.
I devoted three months' time to a survey of this proposition. I had no de-,
sire or intention to withdraw funds which I hadcarefully invested, and which
were returning regular and adequate revenues, to divert to this enterprise un
til I had satisfied myself that it was sound in principle from every angle of ob

My conclusion is, that here is an opportunity to develop a wonderful nat
ural resource and'that the stock of the Black Marble and Lime Company is an
investment with a real future. Thei'e is no doubt in my mind that dividends
will be highly satisfactory and that the value of the stock itself will increase
in value very materially. v v .'
It is my belief that this is only the beginning of a series of manufacturing
industries which will develop from this initial undertaking and which will be
individual in their nature and organization, but which will follow in conse-,
quence of this enterprise and be dependent. upon it. Necessities, not luxuries,
are and will be the foundation of the success which I predict for the Black
Marble "and Lime Company and its allied industries.'

Tne major portion of our stock has already been sold and we are nearing .
the goal of ample finances. All necessary properties have been purchased and
paid for as well as materials and machinery for kilns and factory. With favor
able spring weather construction work wirl begin.
The aim of the Board of Directors is to construct and operate the plant as
economically as possible and consistent with efficient modern practices.
