More than 17.000 names had been
secured on the petitions which
would have placed tho measure on
the November ballot, about 14,500
having been the number required
by statute to placo this law before
tho voters. However, slnco tho

merce and the National Automobllo
Dealers association-havo pointed
out that Oregon is in tho first
group of states to adopt tltlo legis
lation and that a repeal of the Ore
gon law might mlnimtzo the
chances of securing adoption in the

of the Oregon Automotive confer
ence. "Keller neglected to follow
