The hostess club women of this city and assisting, civic organizations! have endeavored to leave nothing undone to assure a federation convention of outstanding success. Every town and city in the state of any importance will be represented with delegates here and we are afforded an unusual op portunity to make La Grande and its adjacent valleys bet ter and more favorably known, throughout Oregon. ( Appreciating that fact, people of the community will make every effort to see that a coidial welcome exists for every visitor. Store windows and interiors will be approp riately decorated, flags will be in place on the streets, homes will be spic and span unci opened to delegates, cars will be available for any and all transportation needs. And . the highest? degree of friendliness and courtesy will be in 1 nvw,!ue..wuvrcv.:r women, wearing visitor llDUons, are cn- j jji countered. ; Every possible service will be rendered -La f ti: Grande will seek' to out-do its' normal 'excellent welcome i jp during the coming days. U is not jj .i' on'y for the clubwomen of the eomniunily to see that the ? j j convention here is a success, but it is a privilege for every I j;: citizen who believes in his or her community and who has I l desire to see it gmw and progress. Regardless of wheth er we may have a direct or indirect part in. the entertain ing of the conventions held here, the licst and most valu- aoie impression can be given only by tho enthusiastic i co-operation of everyone. If La Grande gives that im pression next week,-which we aic'confidcnt she wil, there will be untold reward in favorable appreciation for La Grande's leadership among the cities 'of Eastern - Oregon, and in personal satisfaction with having shown tho utmost cordial hospitality to visitors within our gates.'
