The bride and groom will spend a Tew days at Wallowa lake, ntter Which they will be al home to their many friends at Island City. . " ' Mrs. Ashby, Mrs.' Theisen Entertain at Bridge i - The first large bridge . party of ,the season took, place Wednesday utternoon when Mrs. H. N. Ashby ' and Mrs. John Theisen entertained nt the home of the former. The .spacious rooms of the Ashby home wore artistically arranged, forming a delightful setling for twelve tables of bridge. The color scheme of purple and gold was curried out in the decorations. The sun room nnd living room were arranged with gold, marigolds predominating, tho ' dining room and reception room In purple, purple asters being used. Subdued lights gave a soft gloW to ' the whole. At the close of the play a dainty two-course luncheon was served., which was also carried out in the purple und gold color Bcheme, Mra, - It. K. Westenhuver won high score at bridge. Mrs. W. C. Perkins, sec ond, and the consolation prize wnnt Vt Mrs. . Murlln . Fitzgerald. JNIC prizes were chosen to correspond with the color scheme.'
