At that time details of his deuth had not been received. The Uohnenkamp nmbuiuiuro was . rushed to Meacham Unme t lately and brought Mr, Groves' remains to La Grande. The deceased has been n res1 dent of La Grande for the past seven years, serving as freight conductor on the O.-W. railroad. Ho is survived by his widow, who lives at Flie family home on Hum lock street. Mr. Groves was 56 years of age at the time of his death and was honored and respected by all wno knew Mm. He was a "member of the Christian church and the Ma sonic lodge. His fcody will be forwarded to Illinois for burly.! and Mrs. Groves will accompany the remains east. Before coming to La Grande Mr. Groves worked f rnm Juno, 1913, to November. 1917, on the Oregon Short Line and from Jan uary to May, 1018 on the Santa Fc. - Prior to that time he was with the Mexican Central railway.
