RECEPTION GIVEN TO BUSINESS MEN Meeting at Hot Lake Last Night Was Initial Step Toward Perfecting County-wide Body, Plans for a county wide union of commercial and civic organiza tions were udvunced last evening at Hot I,ake by Dr. W. T. Phy. host at a reception held for the purpose of taking the initial steps toward drawing the people of the dlffrenl communities into closer contact. 'lii' pur pone of such on organ ization, mid Dr. Phy in his address, would he to foster a better spirit in the county und to work for the progress and development of Uni on County as a whole. The reception at Hot Iake lajt evening was the initial step tow ard the. organization of a county wide asaoclalion and wus given by Dr. Phy for that purpose, KiHoption Well Attended The reception was well attend ed. A special invitation had been extended to every commercial or ganization in the county and near 1 all were represented. Many other residents interested in the development of Union County were present. Dining the course of the even ing addresses were delivered - by Senator Hrtice Dennis, of Ei Grande, lloj d McKennou of I ji (tinnde, C. J. Korestrom of North Powder and C. L. Cadwe.il of tim " on.' . The program opened with danc ing which was interspersed by the addresses. Music for the dance wis furnished by French's orches tra. Mr. Dennis talk was on the sub ject of the liuportuncn of agricul ture to Union County. For many ears in cloe touch with agricul tural affairs In this section. Mr. Dennis talked entertainingly well.
