Caramel Cookies One cup butter, 2 cups brown sugar, 2 eggs, l cup sour cream. 4 to 5 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon so da, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 ttuspoon va nilla. Soften butter und beat In sugar. Beat until creamy. Beat In 1 cup ot flour. Add eggs well beaten and beat mixture well. Mix nnd sift 3 cups of flour with salt und soda. Add half to first mixture and beat until smooth. Heat in milk and when smooth udd re maining flour mixture. Stir well and add vanilla. Add uiuro flour if necessary. Form into a small roll and put In the ice box until firm and very cold. Cut thin with a sharp knife und buko In a mod erately iulck oven for Hlx or eight minutes. This recipe ran be "ii'.udr up" In the evening und the dough chilled over night. Then the cookies re cut and baked early in the morn ing before the sun Is high und hot. The rolls should be made about as thick us a rolling pin und the slices cut us thin as possible.
