The trip was a non-stop run ns

metropolis to Yosemtto Valley, The
route Is over the Itblge lioute with
Its countless turns, through Fresno
and thence over the dirt ronds and
steep grades that lead through
Coarse Gold, Fish Camp and Wa
wonn. Oommlns, the observer on the
run, ci disinterested newspaper
man, was amazed at the, perform
ance of the car. Ho mild he knew
the Star was a "performing" fool"
and that It was famous from one
end of the country to the other
for Its many high gear and hill
climbing records; but he was great
ly surprised when the Star trium
phantly levelled off the three
greatest hills encountered on the
route. The long climb out of Va
wona, the steep grade fo the sum
mit of Chlnqapln Mountain and the
long grind from Oiouse Creek
practically all the way to Inspira

and comment enthusiastically on
the great power of the famous
"MILLION HOLLA H MOTfllJ."
On the long, non-stop, high genr
economy run the Star car used but
3-4 gallons of gasoline and scor
ed an nverage of HOt miles to the
gallon. This gas mileage record Is
far nhcd of the winner In the re
cent Yosemlte economy run in
which Husevnlr drove n Star coach
with nn nverago of 27. miles to
the gallon.
The feat Is all the more reinnrlt
nblo when It Is' considered that It
was but the thin! time Husevnlr
had been over the course. Often
a driver will make ns many ns ten
practice runs before attempting nn

no man Is ever picked to drive on
any Itlnd of demonstration over the

Another remarkable fen t lire of
Dnsovoir's most recent achieve,
ment Is the time In which he cov
ered the S r miles of highway In
the Star. The ear was officially
checked out of Los Angeles at r:
1 3 n. m. last Wednesday morning
and reached Camp Curry, where it
was officially checked in tt 7:3a
o'clock that, same evening. This
makes Dusevnlr's time 14 hours, 22
minutes and bears evidence of the
fact that he pushed the Star over
the roadH and did not spare the
enr or eonirve fuel.
