( ut pineapple iu half -Inch allcea, part;, remove eyes and core, place in an earthenware bowl, sprinkle with sugar, cover and place. in a warm place for two hours to. draw out the Juice, put hum Into a bak ing pan, cover with slices of pine apple drained from the juice and stuck with cloves. Drop. bits of the fut trimmed from ihe ham over the fruit. Add water to pineapple juice anil pour over ham. Cover and bake l hour in a moderate oven. (teniove , cover and brown the slices of pineapple, if a self halting pan is not used, baste fre quently wiih the liquor in the pan while baking. Serve slices of ham on a platter surrounded by slices of pineapple, and garnished with bunches of crisp watercress.
