He was presented with a i"Vise old owl" carrying a diploma mounted on a box of chocolates. Jack Dennis received the consola tion prize and was awarded u smaller "wise old owl" on a small er box of candy. The otlu'r prizes were awarded to tlie one tearing the best profile irom a piece oi paper, of the student body presi dent, italpb Webb. Curvy lias lived in La Grande for u number of years, hav ing taught school in the' Central school here for several years. Sh" has many friends who regret to see her leave La Grande, but wish her happiness in her new location. Mrs. W. C. Perkins entertained Saturday nfternon honoring her son, Clair's, twelfth birthday an niversary. Sixteen friends of Mas ter Perkins were present nnd the afternoon was enjoyably spent nt games and contets. At 4:30 o'clock those present were seated around n table beautifully decorated with a color scheme of yellow and pin!.. Spring flowers served as an attract ive centerpiece. Two beautifu birthday cakes lighted witr candlth in the same color scheme, added much to the attractiveness of the luble. Kuvors and placards were also in yellow and pink.
