Four laities of bridge went at ploy dur ing the evening with the high score lor the ladles prize going to Mrs. " T. R. Maxwell and J. M. P. Snyder receiving the gentlemen's prize. Because yesterday was inaugural day, patriotic decorations were tided, nowincts of- nenntlfiil red Tarnations were arranged throngh t)iit the rooms. At an appropriate hour a two course luncheon was served. .. The Pnrltdale club met yenter rt;ynflernoon at the home of Mrs JI. MeOnffery, with Mrs. McCaf fery and Mrs. C. H. Clump as hos tesses. After the business session e short social hour was enjoyed and luncheon was served. Twenty -five ladh s were present. ,. Mrs. J. P. O'Connell was hostess to the Altnr Society yesterday af ternoon. Thirty I tidies were pres ent' and a very interesting ofter noon was spent. Refreshments were served before adjournment. Rt. Baurs had charge of Hie busi ness meeting and devotional, after which a social hour was enjoyed. Luncheon was served by the hos tess beiore adjournment. The American Legion Auxiliary met last evening at Honan hall for their regular meeting. During the evening pluns were made for the sale of a Hope Chest and an taster cake sale. The money will be usee In relief work for disabled ex-ser vice men. There will b a called meeting of the Auxiliary at the home of Mrs. O. N. I'almer, 7011 Adams avenue, March IS.
