The Into. Dr. George Q'Oonnor, who passed on, at Union
Wednesday nicht,. had many rich experiences which ho
loved to tell and which were veiy intersstinif. We recall
one story he told on himself that was very funny and
the doctor enjoyed it.
lie said when, he was practicing medicine in the llakei:
country a cowboy had a finder injured and came to him
for medical aid. Ho dressed the finger of the buckaroo
who immediately, in trim western style, said, "how much
do I owe you, DocV" Tho- doctor promptly replied, "Fif
teen dollars." Tho buckaroo gave forth some very strong
liuiKunKe at the price of a service lasting only a few min
utes to which Dr. O'Connor replied, "My boy, you are not
paying for the time it took me, you are paying me for
knowing how." The fifteen dollars was paid and the cow
boy rode away.
In a few days Dr. O'Connor was trying to catch his
driving horse in a pasture and the horse was not goiii'j
tn be caujjht. After trying until he was exhausted the
doctor noticed a man riding down the road and he hailed
him, asking him to come in and help catch, the horse.
The saiuo cowboy, whose finger had been injureu, rjide up
and threw his ropo over the driving horse, snubbing him
up to a, post in less than a minute. ,
, "That's fine," said the doctor, "I am very much obliged."
But. the cowlioy remembered and he said, "You may hq
obliged, all right, but this will cost you fifteen dollars,
and I want to tell you, doctor, lcfoio you ask any quktq-
