Patent Office Busy

pid strides made by radio arc -exemplified
in the patent office, the
records of which show approxi
mately 3.M00 patents Issued for ra
dio apparutus, both sending, and
receiving.
During 19 J I) there were 024 ap
plications for patents considered to
be essentially of radio character; In

While the bulk of the applica
tions for patents come from the
younger class of workers, experi
menters, young graduate engineers
and technical students, tho records

perienced research workers, in
cluding many university professors.
Six assist ant patent examiners
are devoting most of their time to
radio In the patent office, and at
least half of tho time of the prin
cipal examiner and Ills clerical
