We say unappreciativo, meaning that we are a little dense in realizing what nature does for us every moment and we me a little tardy in countinjr, our blessings. A parclled Eastern Oregon suffered for weeks and weeks; wheat fields tinned brown, pasture in the hills burned out and a drive through Malheur county this week fonvinced us that the morale of those who handle the big out-of-doors country that produces the wheat and live stock for humanity's consumption was broken. In many instances it was gone and men who have spent years in building ui herds' in isolated places are ready to dump their prop erty on a low market and quit the game. We found num erous instances of this. Dul the rain cartie and Knstcrn Oregon is getting a wet .ting that spells a new era, that chases the clark clouds of ylespair backward and in their stead comes the rain clouds (.shedding happiness and comfort to the people. While this rain has hit the Union Slock show a body Mow, it is nevcrtht'loss about the most welcome rain we j have witnessed since coming to the state.
