from touch of that brooding spirit that guards these graves
of green. Night will come und the unchanging stars Again
will rolic in silvered light these million sepulchres where
sleep the brave. And as the dawn puts out the myriad
of lamps of heaven, the sun will reveal once more the flag
that binds today to the yesterdays, and dedicates all past
mid present to the better future.

vision of the Torch come down to us from hands that

Yesterday the ladies of La Oande enjoyed the annual
Neighborhood club breakfast, which is an event that has
for years been prominent in social affairs of the city.
It is even more than 'a social occasion, for it is an ex
ponent of that splendid organizationthe Neighborlux.dlJ1;, " j nmisi-ami hriKhi n.i
can) which is active in civic anairs aiso.
It Granih: could not get along well without this com
munity club which is intensely democratic in its views and
customs, which stands for betterment in every phase of
lii'e in thin city, which staunchly supports the higher ideals
of life and brings a gentle but firm pressure for good upon
itlmost every home in the community.
The annual breakfast marks the rinsing of the year's
work and automatically turns the club over to the Jiewly
vlected administration. The past year litis been one of
achievement and under the guidance of Mrs. J. 1). Lynch,
the retiring president, the Neighlorhood club has not only
kept its place in the sun, so to speak, but it has fostered
it nunilH-r of undertakings which aitl greatly in making
