True, there were some outside the church who asked to donate to the building fund but in a general way the1 new church building has been erected by the Presby terian congregation of La Grande. How differently from olden times, for in those diiyr the building of a new church by almost any denomination meant repeated assessment on the business men and tlx lienjMiil public as well. , Grande as a community joins the Presbyterian con gregnlion tomorrow in the dedication of this building knowing that its stuidy lines stand for a better citizenship, is better Lit Grande, a stmnger manhood and womanhood and; a belter moral tone to the community. All churchei help' any community. Take the church away and no out would live here. They should not. Any community with out a church is 11 desert; no matter ,how rich the grniu and grasses grow; no matter how prolific the herds; in matter how intensely moral the people may lie. Christianity, after all, is the spring of the soul that provides, the vvnter of life. It provides it for those who inn church members and those who are not.
