If Conditions Justify ti , We notice with some interest that senators from the Jiorlhwest ntates are seeking government aid in the way pf advanced credit in agricultural sections where finances have gone awry and the communities are broke. ; In reply to this request President Coolidge has an swered the senators that he favors advanced credit "if local conditions justify." 1 In those four words lie the whole trouble. If local iconditions justified extending credit there would Imj no trouble in getting it in different localities for there is plenty of money on the Pacific coast, but local conditions do not justify when measured by good, sound business. tJobH business in instances such as the senators have in jiiiind would dictate an impossibility of extending more credit.
