Creamed Noodles 2 cups cooked noodleu 2 tablespoon chopped parsley 1 teaspoon fait 2 cups white Bunco i eup buttered bread crumbs 4 teaspoon paprika, To cooked noodleu add white sauce, chopped parsley, salt and paprika. Put into buttered baking dish, cover with buttered crumbs and bake 30 minutes in moderate oven. Heef Kidnrj, Creole Stjlu 1 beef kidney 1 thick slice bacon 2 , tablespoon chopped suet , 4 onions 1-8 teaspoon cayenne pepper 4 tublcspoons flour 1 teaspoon salt 1-8 teaspoon curry , 1 sweet pepper 1 pint tomatoes trim the fat from a freh kid - ney and cut in three-nuarter Inch s ices. Dredge with flour. Fry tho chopped bacon and suet in a deep ..u.un, uuu un- iiium-y, eilUJJJ"''! mioiis and pepper, and turn until the meal is thoroughly seared and coated with a rich brown gravy. Adil the tomatoes and sea soiling, cover closely, and simmer 3-4 hour. Serve very hot on narrow tilripM of buttered toast. Instruments had been electrically sterilized, all preliminaries completed, and the operation was on. It was a, case of life or death. ' Outside a terrific windstorm raged, whip ping the snow high in the air, sweeping clouds Of frozen dust over the valley and bodily pick ing up the water from Hot Lake and hurling -it 100 feet across the highway and railroad tracks. The temperature was near the zero mark. The phone bell rang in the La Grande of fice of the Eastern Oregon Light and Power company. The division manager was notified that a tie-wire on one of the transmission in sulators at Hot Lake had torn loose in the driving wind. The loose connection blinked the lights. The division manacer called Hot Lake.
