Carlton from the University of Oregon, who has been a house guest of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Hampton, was present. Hairdressers offer no explana tion for the thousands coming to them to have their hair cut just in lime to cutch eold thts winter, but they ask no questions and cut. LADD CANYON. (Special) The second one of tho series of par ties, which the ladies of the Uet Togelher club are giving this win ter for the benefit of their fami lies and friends, was given on the evening of November 24th, the la dles acting us hostesses were Mes- damcs Clyde Hoppell. Frank Wil son. Sherrel Kwin. Chus. Lofland, and L. W. Drumsmith. It was truly" a' Thanksgiving party and a very pretty one. The two long tables were cleverly urrangei! with bit brown turkeys, made of paper, pinned on the- sides of the table cloths, centerpieces of flowers and baskets of mints., The evening was passed in dancing and cards and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Spencer and laughter, Juanlta, of the Grange Hull district, delighted everyone with two of their favorite songs. Little Miss Juanlta Is yet only a child, hut she plays tho piano and sings soprano better than many adults. At 12 o'clock 90 peoplo joined In the grand inarch, which was led by Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Lofland. after which n complete hot supper was served consisting of roast pork, mashed potatoes, brown gravy, salad, cake and coffee. LADD CANYON . CNION (Special) Thursday I evening's Concert by the WHepskey j Musical Trio closed our Chautau iiua for The opening num ber on Saturday, Baldy String and his impersonations was well liked. Mondays lecture did nut come up to expectations but tho three short plays presented Tuesday evening were put on by real artists in their Itpe. Mrs.' Miller, reader, sprang a surprise Wednesday, by pulling on one of the best entertainments of Its nature that 1'nlon has ever en joyed. The musical n umbers on tho last night were especially good, particularly tho violin work. Miss Gladys Sargent will spend Frldny and Saturday hero und is being aided by Mr. Stout, Circuit Manager, in attempting to secure a contract for next year, but as considerable opposition Is encount ered by the committee the result Is doubtful.
