A. T. Hill and slaw, the football game.' On that drive.' Mr... Hill told ol' how n few years ai?o La Grande had a baseball team that seemed a winner in those days. A jjame was matched with Wallowa town, which also had a Rood ball team. The' amo was played at Wallowa and La Grande's team and all the rooters arose very early one morninir and drove over the mountains, reach inir Wal lowa late in the afternoon. The teams played ball that dayi and the next day, while on the day following, the La Grandoj contingent started early for home. Saturday we left La Grande at 10:30 in the morning' and ate lunch with old Hod iMdlae in his Groat Northern hotel in Wallowa.
