hand November 3 for the opening of
Tanforan, the new race track near
here, when horse racing in Califor
nia will be revived after 17 yea's,
John D. Stelling, manager of the Pa
cific Coast Jockey club announced
here.. The horses are coming from
every part of the United States, and
several of thein will be here from
Hawaii.

grounds would pass into the hands of
the creditors of the fair association
led the directors of the Commercial
club today, to cull a ' meeting for
Wednesday morning .to. discuss plans
for saving the grounds. This meeting
will be attended hy the'clnb directors,
directors of the pageant association,
of tho fair association and the farm
bureuu and the city commissioners.
Tho grounds this -year were ( used
hy the pageant association, which .is
also planning on . using thein next
year. The fair, association is in debt
about IsAiiir and the grounds art) now
leased. The pageant association paid
